Dorset County Council are holding a special investigation into non-emergency patient transport in June 2014.

Tell Healthwatch Dorset what you think of the service, good or bad - including the date you used non-emergency patient transport. They will include your comments in their report, which will be tabled and discussed at the meeting. Healthwatch is your local consumer champion for health and social care services. Get in touch with them by the end of May for your feedback to be included in the evidential report.

Babes in Arms Reading Group

Babes in Arms Reading Group @ Charminster Library Babes in Arms Reading Group is a group for parents at Charminster Library.

Meetings are held in the Children's Zone so your baby can crawl, play or nap while you relax and discuss books.

The groups will be held monthly on a Monday at 10.15 - 11.15am, starting April 2014.

Pop Up Exhibition for Palestine

Pop Up Exhibition for PalestineYouth&Unity presents ‘Tell 5’ a pop up gallery at the Winton Life Centre on the 6th March 2014; raising awareness for the ongoing struggle for peace between Palestine and Israel and its’ affects on their everyday life.

Working in partnership with (MAP) Medical Aid for Palestine and (JFJP) Jews for Justice for Palestinians, we aim to celebrate the culture and raise awareness and money for our selected charities. This free exhibition is the first of its kind in Bournemouth, taking place on the 6th March 2014, showcasing local and international artists- paving the way towards a more informed Bournemouth. Beginning at 11am and ending at 6pm, this exhibition is suitable for all ages as visitors are  able to sample the culture and educate themselves about this issue. This is a production by Arts University Bournemouth, by Arts & Events Management students.

The Winton Life Centre will host the ‘TELL 5’ Exhibition, involving: photography, film, graphic Design, textiles, paintings, performance, guest speakers, cultural food and live Art inspired by geographical region.

Revamped Queen's Park facilities and new playground unveiled

Revamped Queen's Park facilities and brand new playground unveiledA brand new children’s playground and new Terrace Café and Bar will officially open to the public at Queen’s Park Golf Course later this week.

In a bid, to become more family-friendly, visitors to Queen’s Park will be able to take advantage of a package of improvements to enhance the Pavilion building and its surroundings which includes a new children’s playground and public café and bar managed by BH Live Hospitality in partnership with Bournemouth Council.

The new children’s playground, situated close to the Pavilion for easy access, features a range of exciting and challenging play equipment for children of all ages including a raised ‘play deck’ and seating areas.

The new-look Terrace Café provides indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for golfers, families and park visitors offering a new menu of drinks, snacks and meals and the refreshed licensed Terrace bar boasting balcony seating overlooking the fairway providing the perfect way for customers to relax and unwind.
